Wastewater specialist makes fifth acquisition in as many years

Telford-based Advanced Wastewater and Drainage has acquired Huntingdon Pumps after securing a £500,000 funding package.

Founders Ian Goddard and Lee Edgington have expanded the company’s footprint in the UK through a targeted and acquisition programme.

The purchase of Huntingdon Pumps is its fifth acquisition in five years and will support their geographical market growth strategy.

Goddard said: “We have been operating as business owners in the waste and water industries for almost 10 years and the past five years our strategy has been to develop our offering by collaborating our skills and experience with others across the UK, namely Kent and Hampshire.”

Chris Brown, director, Central Business Finance, added: “Seeing the rapid growth of Advanced Wastewater and Drainage over the last few years and during a pandemic is truly inspirational to be part of. Ian and Lee have a clear strategy and I’m pleased that the services we provide at Central Finance are providing access to the funding for them to achieve their goals.”

Edgington added: “Chris and the Central Business Finance team took the time to understand what we wanted to achieve, what our plans are for the future, the overall market and provided options for us to meet our objectives. It was useful to have someone purely concentrate on the funding elements of our growth plan, so that Ian and I could look at the operational opportunities without being bogged down by red tape and fiscal jargon.”
