Birmingham City Council has given planning permission for 479 rented apartments in Digbeth.

The S&K Buildings will be transformed into a BTR scheme alongside commercial units, amenities, public terraces and a riverside walkway.

Delivered by Taylor Grange, the S&K Building will have a two-storey extension added, whilst six blocks of 6-7 and 8-10 storeys will be built.

One to three-bedroom apartments and duplexes will be created with a restaurant and bar, gym and private amenity space.

There will be 38 car parking spaces and three disabled spaces allocated, alongside five electric vehicle charging points and 270 cycle spaces.

Approval for the scheme had been subject to a Section 106 agreement to provide 48 affordable apartments.
