People: Logistics developer welcomes planning director; New MD for accountancy firm; and more

Logistics property developer Tritax Symmetry has announced the appointment of Tim Partridge as a planning director, bringing the total number of planning directors in the business to four.

He has more than 30 years experience in the private sector working for businesses including Rubicon Planning and RPS.

He has advised on strategic planning matters relating to Symmetry Park Gloucester and Hinckley National Rail Freight Interchange.

Richard Bowen, managing director at Tritax Symmetry, said: “Planning forms an integral part of our business; the sites we are bringing forward are incredibly complex and require expertise of the highest level. Tim has proved to be an invaluable asset to our business and to our in-house planning resource; we are looking to increase this capability further across both offices over the coming months.”

Real estate consultancy Hollis has welcomed a new starter to its Birmingham office.

Eric Apperley joins as senior engineer supporting the M&E team. He has over 30 years of engineering experience, specialising in building, installing and maintaining mechanical systems as well as increasing operational efficiency, reducing carbon emissions and controlling waste through the implementation of effective initiatives.

He joins the firm from UK-based engineering contractor Mitie Group where he directed the design and development of new and complex mechanical systems for organisations across the education and retail sectors.

Director and head of Hollis in Birmingham, Simon Goodrick, said: “Despite uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, demand for commercial property in Birmingham remains strong as the city looks to build back better.
