People: BOOST+Co; RSM UK; Gleeson Homes
BOOST&Co, the funding firm, has appointed Rebecca Blaymires as a principal based at its Birmingham office.
The appointment follows a period of growth for BOOST&Co, with the firm tripling the size of its front office in 2021 in its commitment to offer funding support to more businesses across the UK. Blaymires is the second addition to the Birmingham team, following the appointment of Matt Vincent who established the Birmingham office in March 2021.
She will bring more than 12 years of financial services experience to the lender, having held previous roles at the Lloyd’s Banking Group and Wesleyan.
Blaymires said: “I’m looking forward to starting a new venture with the BOOST&Co team and can’t wait to begin supporting the needs of growing SMEs across the Midlands and boosting the firm’s profile in the region. Mark Taylor and Karl George
RSM UK has added to its Environmental Social & Governance (ESG) tean with the appointment of Dr Karl George MBE.
Previously the founder and managing director of The Governance Forum and creator of the Effective Board Member programmes, George works with senior executives in the private, public and voluntary sectors. He has over 25 years experience in accountancy, business and strategic development.

Allen Marshall
An internal promotion at housebuilder Gleeson Homes has seen Allen Marshall appointed as regional managing director in the Midlands region.
Marshall joined Gleeson in November 2018 as an area manager and within nine months, was promoted to operations director for the Midlands region. Two and a half years later, in recognition of overseeing the region’s expansion, he has been promoted to regional managing director.
He said: “I am excited to be a part of the Gleeson journey. The growth within the Midlands’ region has tripled within my time at the company and this is just the beginning.
