PPE provider secures deals at more than 5,000 stores
PPE specialist GHC Global has secured deals with major retailers to supply Covid-19 lateral flow tests kits.
The Birmingham-based firm is supply packs of single kits to customers at more than 5,000 stores including Morrisons, Iceland, Savers, Semichem, Lloyds pharmacies and Cohen’s Pharmacy Group.
As the Government ends free tests for most of the population, retailers have been stocking up with kits to allow worried consumers to check for Covid-19 infections.
Morrisons is currently selling GHC Global’s kits at £1.75, believed to be the lowest price in the country, said director Dr Aman Singh.
Dr Singh said: “As doctors, of course, we recognise how vitally important it is that people have access to affordable lateral flow tests in order to check whether they have caught Covid and need to isolate.
“We hope that keeping prices as low as possible will encourage people to keep testing even though the Government has ended universal free tests. The current deals amount to hundreds of thousands of tests but this is expected to run into millions as time goes on and the pandemic continues.”
GHC’s other brand, STEP AHEAD, has sold more than 15m face masks, made of cotton and polyester, with an inner layer of nanomesh since the start of the pandemic. The company also supplies the NHS, local authorities and nursing homes across the UK.
