New business community launched to support projects across the region

LoveBrum – the charity supporting “hidden gem” projects across Birmingham, has launched a new initiative for businesses and organisations that care about the social and economic development of the city.
The 0121 Collective offers a plethora of events for the business community to join, whilst supporting charity and driving progress across the region. The new platform will be covered by The Business Desk as its official media partner.
At its launch at The Boutique Workplace Company, the 0121 Collective’s first members and prospective members were given a taste of what LoveBrum will deliver.
Rebecca Simkiss the chair of LoveBrum was joined by Cllr Ian Ward, leader of the Birmingham City Council and Nicola Turner, Director of Legacy at the Commonwealth Games 2022.
Speaking at the event, Cllr Ward said: “Birmingham is easy to reach, but hard to leave.
Cllr Ward
“It is a city reborn with award-winning museums, galleries, major sporting events and scenic waterways and growth at twice the rate of London.
“LoveBrum itself is one of our city’s hidden gems and the 0121 Collective is offering a new way for companies to engage with LoveBrum.
“We all Love Brum and I urge you to get behind the Collective and the many things LoveBrum supports.”
As the region anticipates the upcoming Commonwealth Games, the guest speaker Nicola Turner discussed that the legacy it leaves will be about the region’s people, pride and place.
“There is £778m going into the games itself. There will be 1.5bn people watching on TV, in addition to the 1m tickets already sold – which is the fastest-selling and highest number of tickets for any games.
Nicola Turner
“There will be 11 days of sport, wrapped around by 6 months of arts and culture. What you see is the collaboration of an ecosystem of partners across the public, private and third sector which is so unique.
“I have been so proud to see outside the Town Hall – ‘be bold and be Birmingham’. This region is a space where youth and diversity shine. We are proud and ready to ride this crest of a wave and capitalise on the idea of collective growth for the region”.
High-profile guest speakers like Cllr Ward and Nicola Turner will be featured at each event held by the 0121 Collective, giving members the opportunity to discuss city-wide issues, network with like-minded businesses and support LoveBrum’s charitable efforts.
