Lightbox, the full service digital marketing agency has kickstarted the careers of four individuals after receiving more than 100 applications.

Working with local clients such as Millennium Point, NHS, Bryt Energy, Hollywood Monster and ChipsAway, the Birmingham-based firm says it aims to bring those completing the Kickstart Scheme on its growth journey.

The scheme helps employers create new paid work placements for 16-24 year-olds at risk of long term unemployment.

Director, PJ Ellis said: “Our future success depends on our young people so when we decided to take part in the scheme, we all agreed that the very minimum that any individual would get from the placements would be a very enjoyable and useful experience.

“The main focus being on us providing a real insight into the industry, teaching each Kickstarter a wider range of skills, and installing a real confidence in them that they’d be suitable for any agency if we were unable to offer them a full-time position after the six months.”

The first inductee on the scheme, Sam Pritchard was offered a full-time position back in October 2021 on completion of the six-month placement. Now, he’s a fully-fledged junior designer, and leading the animation offering which is proving popular with many clients.

Managing Director, Julie Teague, added: “Of the other 100,000 young people having started Kickstart jobs, we are super-lucky to have the super talented digital designer, Marthah Amefianu, content writer, Dawud Iqbal, and videographer, Jordan Easie, all recently graduating from Birmingham City University, Coventry University and Worcester University, respectively.

“We have super-ambitious growth plans and we hope that our awesome Kickstarters are able to come with us on that journey in the near future”.
