Brewery set to hit target as crowdfunding campaign opens

Freedom Brewery’s crowdfunding campaign is set to hit its target as it goes live to the public today with £497,000 of its target already raised by current and pre-registered investors.

The campaign target is £500,000 to expand the brewery’s production capacity
and marketing spend to take advantage of the opportunity in the craft lager category.

Over the last five years Freedom’s current private equity investors, including Oakfield Capital, have invested in the production infrastructure to grow the business to a projected £6m turnover this year and £10m by 2025.

This morning as the campaign went live to the public on Crowdcube, James Coyle, executive chairman, said: “We are absolutely delighted and humbled by the backing of our fans and current investors who have shown their commitment to Freedom even before this campaign opens to the wider public.  The more we are able to raise the more we will be able to achieve, this is an incredibly exciting time for the business.”

Freedom’s trade customers include Nandos, Daisy Green, Flat Iron, Cubitt House, Cirrus Inns and the Alchemst. Off trade growth has come from supermarkets and e-commerce sites including Ocado, Aldi, Lidl, Flavourly and Moonpig.

The crowdfunding campaign runs for two weeks.
