Printing and branding business opens second premises

A Tamworth printing and branding company, which was started by a teenage entrepreneur who was mentored by Dragons’ Den investor Peter Jones, is opening a second, much larger, premises in the town.

Embello has taken on an additional unit in the Tame Valley industrial park which is eight times bigger than its existing offices in Claymore and will allow the company to produce up to 100,000 items per week.

The new home also includes meeting room facilities which will be opened up for local charities and community groups to book free of charge.

As well as the 25% increase in the production of promotional goods and branded workwear, the expansion is resulting in the employment of four new members of staff.

The new offices and warehouse in Sterling Park have been designed to Embello’s requirements, including being powered by renewable energy, as the business strives to become even more environmentally friendly.

Embello was founded by Kyle Raffo, who was just 17 when he started the business from his bedroom, not long after winning a place at the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy where he was mentored by the Dragons’ Den investor.

In the 12 years since, Embello (previously known as Expand Digital) has gone from strength to strength to become one of the UK’s leading printing, promotional merchandise and branded workwear specialists, winning several awards along the way. Its customers include Amazon, Morrisons, Spotify and Bentley Motors.

Raffo said: “We’re proud that Tamworth is our home and we’re pleased to be able to continue to invest in the town. We plan to grow further and employ more local people. To celebrate that growth and thank those who have supported us on our journey, we’re inviting customers and local businesses in the area to join us on July 8th for food, drink and the opportunity to meet new people and make valuable new connections through open networking.

“We’d also like to invite charities and groups to come along and have a look at our new meeting room, which they’re invited to use free of charge, and find out how they can be supported by our £10,000 Community Fund.

“It should be a great afternoon and we hope to see lots of people there.”

The community day for customers, local businesses and charity groups will be held on Friday, July 8, from 2pm to 6pm.
