Sale of former nursing home sealed

A former nursing home on a south Birmingham main road that is considered an ideal property for alternative use subject to planning permission has been sold.

Bond Wolfe sealed the deal for what was until recently The Firs Nursing Home at 745 Alcester Road South in Kings Heath for close to the £975,000 asking price.

The buyer is London-based Stuart Clinton Property, established by property investors Max Rayner and Alex Baker.

The three-storey, freehold property, which had operated as a 16-bed nursing home, is on substantial grounds that include a lengthy driveway, a car park to the front and large gardens to the rear.

James Mattin, managing director agency at Bond Wolfe, said: “We were pleased to have quickly completed this sale after receiving strong interest.

“This once again shows how large properties in such prime locations are popular in what is remaining to be a competitive marketplace despite current economic uncertainties.

“Although the property benefits from planning consent for a residential nursing home, it is considered ideal for alternative uses including residential conversion, subject to the necessary planning consents.”

The seller was advised by law firm George Solicitors in Cradley Heath, while Parrot & Coales Solicitors in Aylesbury advised the buyer.
