Cash & carry firm to create 100 Birmingham jobs

Jon Griffin

Cash & carry firm Parfetts is set to create 100 jobs in central Birmingham.

The firm, which operates the Go Local brand, has appointed Jon Griffin as general manager to oversee the recruitment drive. He has held senior roles at Bestway, having managed depots in the Midlands and South Wales. He will report to Parfetts head of operations, Jason Barnard and wholesale director, Andy Whitworth.

The Birmingham site is Parfetts’ eighth outlet. The 100,000 sq ft Birmingham depot will launch in the new year to provide independent retailers across the Midlands.

Griffin, said: “Parfetts is a great employee-owned company that is bringing something new and exciting to the Midlands market. It’s a fantastic opportunity to build a team that will be laser-focused on delivering the best customer experience. In addition, I find that Parfetts has a passion for wholesale that is unique in the industry at the moment.

“Parfetts are investing in the independent retail business to ensure they have the support and margins to thrive. It’s a true partnership approach that is refreshing, and I’m confident it will drive the growth of the new depot in Birmingham.”
