Work re-starts on retirement village delayed by pandemic

Work on a retirement living community in Newcastle-under-Lyme is set to complete in autumn 2024.

Initial work on the site had only just begun in 2020 when the Covid pandemic struck and the UK went into its first lockdown, so the project was put on hold.

With construction now well-underway, Brookfields House on Clayton Road will comprise 75 one, two and three-bedroom retirement apartments for the over 55’s.

Alexandra Johnson, sales and marketing director for Adlington Retirement Living, said: “Our approach to independent living ensures homeowners don’t have to compromise on their lifestyle, their social life or their independence.

“We aim to provide a community spirit, whilst promoting independence and individual respect. It’s a chance to become part of a thriving community of like-minded people, with a shared outlook.”
