People: Springboard Corporate Finance; Bevan Brittan; Evelyn Partners; Digital Glue

Corporate finance advisor Springboard Corporate Finance has recruited Matt Wong as assistant director to its team.

Wong will work across the full range of Springboard’s M&A offerings. Most recently, he worked in investment banking at Zeus advising both publicly listed and financial sponsors on IPOs and buy-side assignments.

Wong graduated from the University of Buffalo in the USA with a BA in Economics and has a MSc in Investment Analysis from Aston University.

Prior to Zeus, he worked at Grant Thornton in the corporate finance team advising on buy and sell-side assignments.

Lauren Halliday

Law firm Bevan Brittan has promoted six staff in its Birmingham office.

The promotions include two new partners, a legal director, two senior associates and an associate across the firm’s Commercial & Infrastructure, Clinical Risk, and Litigation, Advisory & Regulatory teams.

The promotions build on 31 senior lateral hires, including four new partners, who have joined the business in the last 12 months as the firm worked towards achieving its tenth consecutive year of revenue and profit growth in the 22/23 financial year.

Evelyn Partners, the wealth management and professional services firm, is building its presence in the West Midlands with the appointment of a new financial planner to its Birmingham office.

Nick Hathaway is a chartered financial planner and joins from Jerroms Financial Planning, where he has worked since 2018 and where retirement planning and NHS pension work with senior clinicians were areas of specialism.

He started his financial services career in investment management with EFG Harris Allday before a transition to financial planning, and received the “Most Meritorious” award from the Birmingham Insurance Institute for both completion of the Diploma in 2020 and Advanced Diploma in 2022, of which there is only one recipient each year.

Hathway has been hired to help facilitate the growth of the Birmingham office. Working with both our professional services colleagues in Birmingham, and some external professional services firms (particularly law practices), Evelyn Partners is seeing a growing demand for our expertise as our reputation, presence and brand continue to build across the West Midlands.

Birmingham marketing agency Digital Glue has promoted three of the team to heads of department.

Anika Shah, the new head of communications, has almost five years of experience with Digital Glue, and over a decade of business experience, including running her own events management company.

Bringing more than a decade of expertise and specialisation in digital marketing, Tony Illias has also been a part of Digital Glue for almost five years.

He takes on the role of head of digital.

Fabiano Carvalho has been a software developer for over 20 years. He brings a wealth of experience with him as he steps up to head of web development after two years with the company.
