Contractor completes £12.4m final phase of logistics park

Warwick-based MCS Group has completed the third and final phase of a major development of 12 warehouse and distribution units at Witney in Oxfordshire.

MCS Group has reached practical completion of Tungsten Park phase three, which comprises four single storey warehouse units extending to a total of 167,800 sq ft of space.

The £12.4m third phase, on a 24-acre site off Downs Road, has been delivered on behalf of Tungsten Properties.

The industrial and warehouse scheme now totals more than 468,000 sq ft.

Tungsten Properties awarded the contract for phase one to Midlands-based MCS Group and work started in February 2020. The first phase of the development included seven warehouse units ranging in size from 10,000 sq ft to 125,000 sq ft, totalling 289,442 sq ft. Construction of phase three began last June.

Keir Edmonds, managing director at MCS Group, said: “It has been a pleasure and a privilege to work alongside Tungsten Properties for the past three years to deliver what is an absolutely outstanding development of 12 warehouse units.

“We have gained a reputation as being amongst the very best construction contractors in industrial and logistics and the development of Tungsten Park, Witney, serves to reinforce our position in the sector.

“I’m sure the new occupiers will appreciate the excellent quality and facilities built into all 12 units. Tungsten Properties demanded the very highest quality and we have certainly delivered on their brief.”
