Further trouble on the horizon for recycling group

One Stop Recycling (OSR) has posted a notice of intention (NOI) to appoint administrators, after its parent company took the same step last week.

The wholly-owned subsidiary of Capital Green Recycling (CGR) lodged the notice, with director Nirmal Chhabria confirming there have been “no instances of employee redundancies within the company. We remain fully operational and continue to maintain our commitment to our staff and stakeholders”.

The notice for OSR was posted by Sanjeev Gupta (unrelated to Liberty Steel tycoon Sanjeev Gupta), director and owner of parent firm CGR.

CGR posted its notice on June 13 after a challenging year for the firm.

The Birmingham-based company founded by Chhabria and Gupta, had been in the High Court in April after it alleged it had wrongly paid more for its purchase of One Stop Recycling than the company was worth.

His Honour Judge Keyser said that whilst Nirmal had “impressive qualifications and experience he is capable of great charm” but “it also indicates that he purposely uses this charm to further his own ends and that he is manipulative and untrustworthy.”
