A new Manchester office with space for up to 50 staff has been opened by engineering firm adi Group.

The Birmingham-based business has launched a new life sciences division which will be based in Ashton Old Baths, Ashton-under-Lyne.

Its 2,500 sq ft office currently has seating for 24 staff, but will be able to accommodate 50.

So far, 20 employees are based there, but the group said there is “huge opportunity for many more jobs created down the line”.

The new facility will complement adi’s other North West office in Birkenhead, which is a hub for its automation, automotive, projects, electrical and mechanical businesses.

The Wirral office also has dedicated workshop and fabrication/manufacturing space.

Adi is a multi-disciplinary design, engineering and project management business serving the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry.

It has launched its life sciences division to directly support the requirements of the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry.

The new division has the capabilities to take a client’s project from concept, detail and technical design, to implementation all the way through to the facilities going live for production and beneficial use while complying to all regulations.

Darren Lewis, recently appointed managing director and head of the adi life sciences division, said “I’m excited to be leading the new division, which is backed by an elite team of high quality professionals.

“It was an opportunity to bring a high performing team of likeminded people to an already established and successful business. The basis of adi Group has always been to provide a service with a multifaceted end-to-end approach, and we want to utilise those values for the new division to become a single point of responsibility for our clients.”
