Chamber of Commerce appoints new president

CHASE Chamber of Commerce, part of the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Group, has appointed a new president. Anne King has succeeded Fred Pritchard, chief executive of the Pritchard Group, who has served for nearly three years.

New vice presidents have also been appointed. They are: Tim Thacker, of Premier Nutrition Products, Phil Bradford, of Oak Factors and Jenny Webb, who is a magistrate, trustee of the Chase Citizens Advice Bureau and a board member of the Chase Volunteer Services.

The president’s new chain of office has been sponsored by two firms in the area with long standing links to the chamber – Cannock logistics firm Rhenus Logistics and Rugeley based Premier Nutrition, which supplies nutritional information to manufacturers of animal food.

Ms King runs a computer and software micro business, which was established in 1994. It employs three full time people and specialises in the construction and waste disposal industries.

She said: “As a small business owner I strongly advocate how useful membership of the chamber is.  I was part of the decision making board which agreed to the merger with Birmingham Chamber of Commerce Group.  It has opened up wider opportunities for local businesses.

“During my year in office my aims are to raise the profile of Chase chamber and encourage membership from a wider area within South Staffordshire.  The merger with Birmingham and other chambers within the group means members can promote their services and products to businesses in these wider areas and have a stronger voice at government level on issues which are important to companies.”
