130 jobs at risk as boiler company to cease trading
A Leeds-based boiler installation firm is to close down, putting more than 130 workers in danger of redundancy.
HomeServe has said the company had been “loss-making for several years”.
The firm, which also providers home emergency cover for electrical, plumbing, boiler and drainage repairs, said the rest of its business was not affected by the decision.
The company said it was working with its employees and would provide them with “every support”.
In a statement released this week, the firm said it was “regrettably having to close” its Leeds-based boiler installation business.
It added: “The business has been loss-making for several years and despite the significant efforts of the team, the scale required to deliver sustainable growth and profitability has not been achieved.”
HomeServe confirmed 130 people were at risk of losing their jobs, but noted: “we are working to ensure favourable terms and conditions, and provide every support that we are able to during this time”.
