Race begins for Wolverhampton’s £1bn house building contract

Wolverhampton City Council is seeking companies to participate in a new housing development framework, aimed at speeding up the construction of new council homes and regeneration initiatives across various sites within the city.
A four-year Housing Development Framework, backed by £109m from the Housing Revenue Account budget is being launched.
The framework, spanning design, pre-construction, and delivery, invites local contractors to participate. Plans include expanding the framework to other local authorities through an authorising agreement, potentially generating £1bn in expenditure and supporting the local economy.
The deadline for applications is February 21, and successful applicants will be announced in June 2024.
