The Indian Brewery will be expanding its presence across Birmingham, as it announces a second site in the Jewellery Quarter.

A new brewery and taproom will open at St Paul’s Square to cater up to 220 people, featuring an extensive number of beer taps, a games area and theatre kitchen with live sports on the big screen.

30 jobs will be created at the new venue, which will be distinct and separate from its existing Indian Brewery Snowhill location, known for its modern Indian street food.

Head brewer Jay Purewal said: “Phase 1 of the development will focus on making the brewery operational, ensuring the continual production of a diverse range of beers – from traditional to modern and vibrant beers – along with experimental, seasonal, and collaborative brews.”

The taproom is set to showcase a diverse range of craft beers, as well as a curated selection of natural, organic, and low-intervention wines. In addition to signature cocktails, patrons can explore low/no-alcohol beverages.

Jaspal Purewal, CEO of The Indian Brewery said: “Our expansion into the Jewellery Quarter marks a significant milestone for The Indian Brewery.

“We are excited to be part of such a historic and vibrant community, and we look forward to contributing to the city centre’s cultural and culinary tapestry for many years to come. In addition, we will be increasing employment within the local area, and we anticipate on creating up to 30 new jobs.”

The expected opening date is May 2024.
