Birmingham City Football Club and UB40 team up in naming rights partnership

Birmingham City Football Club and UB40 have teamed up to launch the Club’s naming rights partnership.

St. Andrew’s at Knighthead Park on Monday, April 1st, 2024 will be revealed coinciding with the World Premiere of UB40’s latest album, UB45.

The concert marks the start of UB40’s 2024 World Tour and will feature the debut of new stadium branding.

As part of an ‘Easter Day Double Header,’ the Sky Bet Championship match against Preston North End (PNE) will kick off at 3 pm, followed by the UB40 concert at 5:45 pm.

The concert, hosted by Greatest Hits Radio presenter Jenny Powell, will showcase classic hits and new tracks from the ‘UB45’ album, set on a stage behind the goal in the Gil Merrick Lower section.

Tickets for the match will include access to the concert.

Birmingham City chief executive officer, Garry Cook, said: “St. Andrew’s at Knighthead Park on Monday 1 April is going to be a celebration of Birmingham – the city’s football team and its favourite band UB40. We are delighted to be able to offer our fans a free concert of this stature to celebrate our new naming rights partnership”.

Robin Campbell of UB40 said: “UB40 and Blues are Birmingham. It has always been the band’s ambition to play at St. Andrew’s at Knighthead Park again. We did it in 1989 and it was amazing. We would like to thank Garry Cook and his team for the opportunity to make our dream a reality. Our music is from the terraces and streets of this great city. Everything we do starts in and speaks of Birmingham. So, we could not be prouder to perform a World Premiere of the new album and kick off our World Tour after the Preston match at a place that we call home.”
