Sharps Bedrooms has completed its second acquisition in the last year with the purchase of Clever Closer.

The Bilston-headquartered fitted furniture retailer has acquired Clever Closet, a provider of under-stair storage and loft solutions. Its founder Paul Jacob will remain to support the business with the Sharps team.

The deal adds further capacity to its 31 showrooms across the UK and follows the purchase of custom furniture company Fittingly in September 2023.

Sharps Bedrooms chief executive Kevin Smith said: “We are delighted to complete the acquisition of Clever Closet, who have become the clear market leaders in fitted under-stairs storage solutions.

“We believe that our knowledge and installer base, combined with their clever product solutions will create significant growth across the UK.”

Paul Jacob, founder of Clever Closet, adds: “We are very excited about the opportunity to work with the UK’s market leader in fitted furniture, and this will help us grow our business even further.”

Myerson Solicitors supported the deal and was led by Ryan Fletcher, a senior associate in the corporate team, working with corporate partner Akeel Latif, solicitor Luke Wilkins and trainee solicitor Isobel Barton.

Carla Murray, a partner in the Myerson commercial team, Karam Bhatti, a solicitor in the Myerson commercial team and Kurt Reilly, a solicitor in the Myerson employment team, also advised on the transactions’ commercial and employment aspects.
