Fast fashion giant eyes Midlands distribution hub
Fast-fashion giant Shein could turn to the Midlands for its first British warehouse ahead of its £50bn flotation on the London Stock Exchange.
The Singaporean company is reporedly looking at sites in the region’s ‘Golden Triangle’, according to reports from The Telegraph.
Shein has sent representatives to look at sites in the region over recent weeks – including at Castle Donington, Coventry, Daventry and Derby as it searches for a distribution hub between 3-400,000 sq ft.
However, any plans will be dependent on an agreement with its current outsourced logistics partner Super Smart Service, which currently processes Shein’s UK orders from a warehouse in Cannock. Shein’s forthcoming IPO could also impact any decision to create jobs in the Midlands, according to the Telegraph.
A spokesman for Shein said: ““To support the growth of the business, Shein is actively exploring warehousing locations worldwide. However, Shein has no immediate plans to acquire warehouse space in the UK.”
