HMRC set to relocate to new Telford site

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) is set to relocate to a new site while maintaining its presence in Telford, ensuring the security of 1,100 jobs.

The Telford specialist site will move from Telford Plaza on Ironmasters Way to the government-owned Parkside Court on Hall Park Way.

The specific timeline for the relocation will be disclosed later.

HMRC will share Parkside Court with other government entities, including HM Land Registry and Natural England, which is overseen by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Given Parkside Court’s close proximity, all staff currently based at Telford Plaza are expected to transition smoothly to the new location.

Jim Harra chief executive and first permanent secretary said: “HMRC has had a significant presence in Telford, which is an HMRC specialist site delivering digital and IT services. As the lease on our current building will expire in 2026 we have been exploring our long-term building options. Following a selection process we can confirm our future building in Telford will be at Parkside Court, a government freehold building very close to the Plaza.

“We are at the early stages of working through our plans for the move and will share more details later this year. Senior leaders in HMRC communicated this information to colleagues based in Telford today.”
