Birmingham web design agency achieves B Corp status
Birmingham-based web design agency Squibble has joined the growing list of companies to secure the coveted B Corp certification.
Squibble has become part of a community of more than 8,000 B Corp businesses globally and 1,700 businesses in the UK. Other big-named members include The Guardian, Innocent Drinks, Patagonia, Tony’s Chocolonely, The Big Issue, Finisterre, Elemis, and Sipsmith Gin.
The certification process requires businesses to reach a score of 80 or above in the B Impact Assessment, assessing operations across five key areas: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.
Kim Leary, founder and managing director of Squibble, said: “Becoming B Corp certified was a natural step for us. We’ve always prioritised our people and the environment, so it made sense to formalise that commitment through the B Corp framework.
“We’re a small but mighty team, and while we may not have expansive office lighting systems to replace or huge resources to overhaul, we’ve always made conscious decisions to operate sustainably. The B Corp accreditation gives us a valuable framework to continue improving and be even more thoughtful about the initiatives we pursue in the future.”
Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, commented: “We are thrilled to welcome Squibble to the B Corp community. Squibble demonstrates that you don’t have to be a large company to have a positive impact. Its dedication to people and the planet shows that any business, no matter the size, can operate with purpose at its core.”
