US ambassador heading for Birmingham

US Ambassador Louis B Susman is to make his first visit to Birmingham on February 26.

The British American Business Council in the Midlands (BABC), Birmingham Chamber of Commerce/UKTI (BCI), Birmingham City Council and Birmingham Law Society are to host a business lunch at the ICC.

Ambassador Susman will speak on political and economic issues affecting the US/UK transatlantic relationship. Ambassador Susman is a lawyer and also a former executive within the banking industry in Chicago.

Cassie Muir, Executive Director of BABC said: “We believe that Ambassador Susman’s remarks will be of interest to the many professionals in Birmingham’s business community who are involved in US/UK trade and especially those who will participate in the Business and Professional Services Market Visit to Chicago in March this year.

“The US is the West Midlands’ and Birmingham’s number one foreign direct investor. The City of Chicago and Birmingham are twinned as ‘Sister Cities’ and this event will provide a great opportunity to celebrate this.”
