Next Steps for 33-storey complex in Birmingham
The Hundred, a £70m build-to-rent development in Birmingham, has taken its next steps forward.
The S106 Legal Agreement has been signed, and the project has officially received approval.
With these steps completed, the development is now moving into the pre-commencement phase, including preparations for demolition and other initial works.
Approved by Birmingham City Council’s planning committee in February 2024, The Hundred will rise to 33- storeys on Broad Street, offering 294 homes on a brownfield site in the city centre.
The project is designed to be one of Birmingham’s most sustainable developments, featuring all-electric systems and energy-efficient technologies to reduce carbon emissions and energy costs for residents.
It will aim for an EPC B rating, Wired Score “Platinum” certification, and a 4.5-star rating on the Home Quality Mark (HQM).
The development will offer a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments and duplexes.
It will also feature a range of communal amenities, including co-working spaces, lounges, and rooftop gardens.
Other facilities include a gym, yoga space, meeting rooms, a cinema, and gaming rooms. A 338-space cycle hub will also be included to encourage sustainable transport.
At street level, The Hundred will bring retail spaces such as shops, cafes, and restaurants to Broad Street.
Led by Ropemaker Properties Ltd and managed by Urban Vision Real Estate, The Hundred is expected to be completed by 2027.
