Administrators alerted by online fashion brand
Fashion brand Dancing Leopard is facing an uncertain future after posting a notice of intention (NOI) to appoint administrators.
It’s the second notice issued by the online brand in less than a month, after it looked set to appoint administrators on November 20.
Jade Hildreth and Jack Burrows founded Dancing Leopard in 2009 after returning from travelling the world. On its website, it says the business was inspired by the “vibrant fabric markets in India”.
It’s been featured in magazines such as Cosmopolitan and Vogue, and worn by celebrities including Alison Hammond.
The brand first established itself in London before heading to Ibiza. It now operates from its warehouse in Walsall where it employs 27 staff, but last year opened its first flagship store in Ibiza Town.
Founder Jack Burrows left the business as of March 31, according to an update to Companies House on Nov 6. In its latest accounts, Dancing Leopard directors say they were aware that “cash in the company has declined significantly in the current year following a decrease in turnover and increase in expenses due to a operational change.
“The directors are happy that the company have resolved these issues and have been profitable for the final months.
“The company’s cash flow has became more stable, however the directors note it will take time to build back the working capital.”
Dancing Leopard has been contacted for comment, with no response received.
