Birmingham City Council adds more properties to auction

More Birmingham City Council properties will feature in Bond Wolfe’s first auction of 2025.
Seven lots will appear in the auction on February 6, as the council works to sell off assets from its £2.4bn investment property portfolio through a programme led by commissioners.
The council holds the largest land estate of any UK local authority, extending to 26,000 acres and attracts on average £34m of revenue per year from more than 6,500 property assets and over 300 of these have historic interest.
Lots include a former children’s home, residential properties, parcels of land and ground rents on industrial estates.
Bond Wolfe’s final auction of 2024 saw Birmingham City Council secure more than £1.1m in sales.
Gurpreet Bassi, chief executive of Bond Wolfe said: “This is the first of seven auctions we will be holding online this year after a 2024 which saw our auction sales up 18.2% to £178,101,150.
“The signs are promising for 2025 and we expect the February auction to get us off to a cracking start.”
