French investor gets go-ahead for 100,000 sq ft logistics facility

French asset manager and property investor Barjane is getting ready to kick off a new development in Rugby, with planning approval now in place for a 106,000 sq ft logistics facility.

The new project, dubbed Rugby 106, will sit on a 5-acre site in the heart of the UK’s ‘Golden Triangle,’ surrounded by brands like Sainsbury’s, Amazon and H&M.

Previously home to a 45,000 sq ft vacant office and workshop, the site was acquired by Barjane in January 2024.

The Rugby 106 development will offer 87,000 sq ft of warehousing, with additional office space across two floors, bringing the total to 106,000 sq ft.

Following demolition and waste management, the site is all set for construction to begin and is expected to be completed by Q4 2025.

Patrick Batten, UK commercial director said: “We are delighted to secure planning on this prime Midlands site where we can showcase BARJANE’s unique approach with a premium quality sustainable development. It is a prominent location and a great opportunity for a business to establish a flagship industrial or logistics facility.

“This project demonstrates our capabilities in the UK market and our ability to deliver exceptional schemes as we also look to progress another strategic site we control nearby and continue to seek more new opportunities in line with our growth plans.”
