Former council HQ to become housing development

Warwick District Council’s planning committee has given outline permission to transform its former HQ site, bringing up to 74 new homes to the area.
The plans for the new homes on the former Riverside House site, submitted by Homes England, follow the development brief set by Warwick District Council in 2021 and are based on feedback from a public consultation in November 2023.
The brief requires that 40% of the homes be affordable and meet the council’s net-zero carbon standards.
Homes England has also received full approval for the development of Elizabeth Park, an expanded public space that will connect with the existing parkland once the Edmondscote Athletics Track is relocated.
The new park will offer wetland areas, a wildflower meadow, new woodlands, an extended riverside path, an exercise trail and a cycle track for the community.
