Funding fuels expansion for logistics firm

Logistics specialist PDS Direct is accelerating its growth with a funding package from Lloyds.

The support is fueling an expansion of fleet, workforce and infrastructure following a five-year contract win.

With the funding, the Oldbury-based company has increased its fleet by 25%, recruited 45 new employees and invested in sustainable operations, including a CNG-powered tractor unit.

Now operating over 150 vehicles, PDS Direct employs 165 staff and supports 660 customers across the UK and Western Europe.

Sean Kiely, managing director at PDS Direct said: “Securing a major client contract was a pivotal moment for PDS Direct. It not only validated the expertise we bring to logistics but also set the stage for our continued growth. To meet the demands of
this contract, we had to act decisively, expanding our team, fleet, and infrastructure rapidly.

“Our relationship with Lloyds has been instrumental in supporting our growth over the years. They understand our business inside and out, and their ability to provide bespoke solutions means we’ve always felt supported at every stage of our journey.”

Andy Matthews, relationship director at Lloyds said: “PDS Direct’s dedication to delivering specialised logistics solutions makes them a standout in the industry. We’re proud to support their expansion with a funding package tailored to their needs. It’s been rewarding to work closely with Sean and his team, and we look forward to seeing their continued growth.”
