Join Cash for Kids and LoveBrum for the ultimate fundraising event: Set Me Free! On Thursday, June 5th, 2025, experience a thrilling, once-in-a-lifetime sleepover at the infamous HM Prison Shrewsbury, ranked as the 6th top Dark Tourism site in the world. This exclusive event is presented in partnership with TheBusinessDesk.com and brings together local business leaders and special guests to raise funds for children and young people in need.
HM Prison Shrewsbury, known for its dark history and haunted atmosphere, offers the perfect backdrop for a night filled with spine-chilling stories, eerie encounters, and fun challenges. In 2023, a group of 25 participants, including celebrities like UB40, Michelin-starred chef Glynn Purnell, and radio host Andy Crane, raised an impressive £50,188 for the cause. This year, with your help, we aim to surpass that goal.
As a “detainee,” you’ll share the experience with fellow fundraisers, each committed to
making a difference. Your £2,000 fundraising target will directly support children affected by poverty, illness, and additional needs. The more you raise, the better your “accommodation” will be during your stay. You’ll have eight weeks to reach your goal, with support from the Cash for Kids and LoveBrum team to help you succeed.
Space is limited, so express your interest by contacting Charlotte Walker, Regional Charity Manager at Cash for Kids, to be considered for a spot. The virtual trial date on March 27th, 2025, will give you the chance to meet fellow inmates and prepare for the event.
On June 5th, you’ll be locked in the prison overnight, engaging in activities, raising funds, and making lasting memories. At dawn on June 6th, you’ll be released, knowing that your efforts have made a real impact on local children’s lives.
