Apartment scheme set for Birmingham’s historic Gun Quarter

Paper Yard, a new residential development in Birmingham’s historic Gun Quarter, has been unveiled.
Developed by Hatchbury and Wild Grey Developments, the development will feature 77 one and two-bedroom apartments.
Spanning 53,819 sq ft, Paper Yard will offer a mix of private and communal outdoor spaces and is set to include home working areas, private balconies, terraces or gardens.
Knight Frank has been appointed as the sales agent for the development, with sales launching in April 2025 and completion scheduled for Q4 2026.
Liam Smith partner at Knight Frank and head of regional investment sales said; “We are thrilled to be appointed as the exclusive sales agent for Paper Yard. The development presents a prime investment opportunity in Birmingham’s thriving market. With the city’s GVA projected to grow 19% by 2035, rental demand increasing significantly, and a 20% rise in high-earning professionals relocating from London, the investment fundamentals are compelling. The development’s design and strategic location near current and future transport links make it ideally positioned to benefit from Birmingham’s economic expansion.”
John Kennedy, director of Hatchbury said: “Paper Yard exemplifies our core philosophy to ‘retain and enhance’ in every project we undertake. Following the success of our award-winning Photographic Works development in the Jewellery Quarter, we’re continuing our commitment to creating sophisticated, high-quality residences that preserve the area’s distinct character while providing much-needed housing that adds lasting value to Birmingham’s urban landscape.”
