Nearly 900 jobs lined up as plans submitted for MG Rover site

Indurent has submitted a planning application for the regeneration of the former MG Rover site at Longbridge West, which will see a £30m investment and the creation of hundreds of jobs.
Located 12km southwest of Birmingham city centre, the proposal includes over 339,000 sq ft of industrial and logistics space aimed at sectors like advanced manufacturing, logistics and distribution.
If approved, the scheme is expected to deliver 590 full-time roles and 280 construction jobs.
Proposals also aim to boost local infrastructure and sustainability by linking the site to the River Rea valley’s walking and cycling routes and improving transport connections to Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
Jesscia Evans, senior planning manager at Indurent said: “This planning application marks a major milestone for Indurent and for the wider regeneration of Longbridge. This development will deliver high-quality, modern employment space, bringing investment, job creation, and economic growth to the area. As we reach 20 years since the closure of the MG Rover plant, the site is beginning a new chapter as a hub for business and innovation. We look forward to working closely with the local authority and community to bring these plans to life and ensure they deliver lasting benefits for Longbridge.”
The planning submission follows Mayor Richard Parker’s visit to Longbridge on 11 April, marking 20 years since the MG Rover plant closure.
During the visit, Indurent gave the Mayor a site tour and outlined its long-term vision for Indurent Park Longbridge West and its potential role in driving economic growth.
