Increased demand prompts accountants to open new Telford branch
AN increased demand for its services across Shropshire has seen chartered accountants Gilbert & Co open a new office in Telford.
The firm has opened a new base at Telford Space Centre on the Halesfield Business Park after picking up work from the emerging SME and start-up sector.
It said the expansion was designed to help it bring its range of services closer to its growing client base across the area.
The firm, founded by senior partner Brian Gilbert – a chartered accountant with more than 30 years experience – already has a long-standing presence in Essington, near Wolverhampton.
However, after winning new business from firms in Telford, Shrewsbury and the rest of the county it opted to commit to a new office.
“Shropshire is a real hot-bed for new and growing businesses who are just the sort of ambitious and exciting companies we are particularly keen to work alongside,” said Mr Gilbert.
“Our hands-on approach to supporting SMEs and start-ups has resulted in sustained growth at our Wolverhampton office, and with our client base across Shropshire having expanded at a rapid rate during recent months, we felt the time was right to invest further in the county and open our dedicated new office in Telford.
“It also allowed us to tap into some of the great accounting talent in the county, and we’re looking forward to further growing our team as our new base becomes even more established.”
The firm provides a comprehensive range of services, including accountancy, company formation, business planning, banking consultancy and taxation advice. The firm also specialises in the construction and healthcare sectors.
“With the current challenging economic circumstances there can be something of a reluctance from some finance professionals to support new and start-up enterprises, but we believe passionately that it’s companies like these that are the backbone of our economy and so we’re keen to do whatever we can to help them to thrive and prosper,” added Mr Gilbert.
