Law firm hits acquisition trail after completing latest merger

AN AMBITIOUS West Midland law firm is on the acquisition trail again after completing its latest merger.
HCB Solicitors, based in Solihull, has concluded its merger with Walsall-based solicitors Hadens and is now looking at other potential partners in the Black Country.
In the past three years HCB has taken over companies in Redditch, Alcester and Lichfield and opened offices in Stratford-upon-Avon and Harborne.
The acquisition of Hadens has seen the practice move into larger new offices in Lichfield Street, in Walsall town centre.
Mike Gahan, managing partner at HCB, said: “We needed more space for our Walsall operation which we hope will be the spearhead of further moves into the Black Country.
“With every move we have made there has been a need to take on more staff from the local area, so as we broaden our reach in the Black Country we will no doubt be taking on more employees.”
Part of the appeal in acquiring Hadens was its expertise in the area’s important manufacturing sector.
“Manufacturing is still a core sector in the Black Country and Hadens have specialists in employment and company laws in that field,” said Mr Gahan.
“The new offices in Lichfield Street suit our brand well and provide a good base for the legal services we offer in both commercial and private law.”
