McCann joins Bromford Group

BROMFORD Group has appointed former EC Harris commission manager Amelia McCann as head of development north.

Ms McCann brings additional private sector skills to Bromford Group, one of the leading affordable housing providers in Central England.

She has a background in affordable housing and worked for a number of Midlands registered social landlords before working in the private sector for a national contractor and, most recently, built asset consultancy EC Harris.

“I’ve joined Bromford at a challenging time,” said Ms McCann, whose operational responsibility includes most of the West Midlands.

“I’m charged with team leadership, business development, relationship management and programme delivery – and, as ever at the end of the financial year, I’m already involved in decision making on schemes.

“In addition to all the big things, there are the usual challenges for any new employee, like learning the organisation’s language and ways.

“I have to say that early impressions are that I’m working with dedicated, inspiring colleagues. I’m looking forward to the continued journey to keeping Bromford in the upper quartile of performing associations.”

Penny Downing, group development director, said: “I am extremely pleased that Amelia has joined Bromford. She will bring additional commercial private sector skills to the team as well as her obvious enthusiasm and passion for affordable housing.”

Bromford Group has been in the housing business for more than 40 years, growing organically and through merger partnerships to become an industry leader. It owns 26,000 homes, from Stoke in the north to Cirencester in the south, and employs 1,100 people.
