Manchester accountant eyes Midlands firms
MONTPELIER Chartered Accountants is targeting the Midlands and the South West after expanding into London.
The Manchester-based firm has acquired a majority interest in £4m turnover London-based practice Auerbach Hope.
The enlarged company will become a top 35 accountancy firm with 220 employees.
ts goal is to a create a £25m national firm and is now chasing acquisition targets in Birmingham and the Bristol area, chief executive Robert Jackson told TheBusinessDesk.com.
“This acquisition takes us to £15m so we’ve got £10m to go. We’re in discussions with several firms in the Birmingham area to give us that Midlands presence.
“The Auberbach Hope deal will put us on the national map and hopefully get the wheels turning again so we can make more acquisitions.”
Headquartered in Manchester, Montpelier has a strong presence in the manufacturing, digital and creative, food and farming, leisure and hospitality industries.
