Vax sweeps into city with new head office

VACUUM cleaner company Vax is relocating its head office across the West Midlands to new premises in Birmingham city centre.
The firm is currently headquartered in Droitwich but is now moving around 80 office staff from its base there to a new HQ at Two Colmore Square.
The move, which is expected to be completed by the end of the month, will see around 100 distribution, warehouse and customer service staff remain at the base in Droitwich.
Vax has taken 21,000 sq ft of space on a 10-year lease at the city centre complex which is owned by Birmingham-based Nurton Developments.
A Vax spokeswoman told TheBusinessDesk.com the move was prompted by an expansion of the payroll and it was keen to retain its base in Worcestershire.
Nurton was represented during the negotiations by GVA, who are joint agents for Two Colmore Square with the Birmingham office of CBRE. Shoosmiths carried out Nurton’s legals.
