Election survey: last chance to take part

TODAY is the last day to take part in TheBusinessDesk.com survey into how the general election is viewed by its 36,000 registered users from the UK’s regional business heartlands.
[FORM: 20]
As the fastest-growing business media brand in the country, TheBusinessDesk.com is already central to the working lives of thousands of professionals and decision makers in Yorkshire, the North West and the West Midlands.
With the economy central to the general election campaign, and the focus of this week’s final leaders’ debate, all parties are hoping to win the confidence of the nation’s wealth creators.
We have joined forces with the Birmingham office of law firm Clarke Wilmott to create the easy-to-complete survey, which closes at noon on Friday this week (April 30). We’ll publish the results together with analysis of what they mean for Labour, the Conservatives and the Lib Dems on Tuesday.
So who do you trust most to run the Treasury? The popular but un-tested Vince Cable, or the familiar team of Darling and Brown? And which party has the most credible plans to tackle the deficit?
The results will provide for the first time a snapshot of the views of a significant proportion of the UK’s regional business leaders, whose activities underpin employment and economy in dozens of marginal constituencies. The outcome could be a key barometer for the actual results on May 6.
Marc Reeves, West Midlands editor of TheBusinessDesk.com, said: “This has already been a remarkable general election campaign in terms of the surprise surge of support for Nick Clegg as well as the influence of the TV debates. But the economy remains the central issue, and I know for a great many of our readers it’s the issue that trumps all others. Business leaders are looking for policies that will both tackle the deficit and create an environment in which business can thrive.”
To contribute to the survey, simply click on the button at the top of this page. There are just six simple questions, and it should take you less than a minute to complete. The poll closes at noon on Friday.
