Rudell’s the Jeweller appoints new MD

THE DIRECTOR of a Birmingham jewellery firm is to take the helm as managing director after 21 years with the business.
Jon Weston will take on the role at Rudell’s the Jewellers, which has shops in Harborne and Wolverhampton.
Mr Weston joined the company at the age of 21 and was promoted to manager in 1994, before being appointed a director in 2000.
Anthony Rudell, chairman of the company that was established by his father Justin in 1938, will continue to take an active role in the running of the company.
Mr Rudell said he was proud to have mentored Mr Weston, who became a fellow of the gemological and diamond grading association shortly after he joined the company.
“Jon has been such a key contributor to our success over the years, I can think of no one more deserving and capable of taking the business into this new chapter of greater success,” he said.
“Jon is very focused on customer service, which has very much inspired the team, leading from the front, so this promotion really is a very smooth transition for everyone at the company.”
Mr Weston said he was keen to build on the Rudell’s trademark.
“I am relishing the challenges that lie ahead as MD and am excited by this latest development.”
