Construction firm’s new director and more appointments

BLACK COUNTRY construction company Shaylor Group has promoted Ken Rawe to director in its special projects division.
In his new role, he will to lead the division which specialises in new-build and refurbishment construction projects valued at up to £1.5m.
Mr Rawe will also focus on new business opportunities across a number of sectors, including commercial, industrial, leisure and retail, at the Aldridge-based firm.
He has worked in the construction industry for more than 30 years and comes from a procurement background.
Mr Rawe joined Shaylor in 1995 and, in his previous role of business improvement manager, led an initiative to install a collaborative and best practice culture across the group.
Shaylor ‘special projects’ is one of four distinct areas within the group, which reported a £9m balance sheet in the firm’s latest annual accounts.
In other appointments news, building consultancy Powell Williams has promoted Matthew Baker from senior surveyor to associate in its Birmingham team.
His is one of four promotions across the company’s three offices, including Matthew Carswell, who has stepped up from practice finance manager across the three sites to partner designate.
Powell Williams has offices in Birmingham, Chester and London.
