Rotork strengthens Midlands operation with new acquisition

ENGINEERING group Rotork, whose electric valve actuator division is based in Worcester, has strengthened its operation in the Midlands with a new acquisition.

The company has acquired the entire share capital of Prokits Ltd, a designer and manufacturer of valve adaptor kits and accessories for the valve industry, based in Mansfield. Prokits has gross assets of £0.6m.

The undisclosed deal sees sole owner of Prokits, Craig Mellins, appointed as General Manager of Rotork Valvekits, into which the Prokits business will be merged.

Commenting on the acquisition, Rotork chief executive Peter France said: “The acquisition of Prokits, for which Craig Mellins has established a good reputation in the market over the last decade, will increase the customer base and scale of our Rotork Valvekits valve adaption and accessory products business.”

Rotork Controls is Rotork’s electric valve actuator division. It supplies to the industrial valve control and actuation applications sector.

The operation encompasses actuators and control systems for new plants, plant extensions and upgrades, together with life of plant support.
