Cattaneo backs recycling firm £700k growth fund

BIRMINGHAM-based corporate finance solutions firm Cattaneo has loaned £700,000 of development capital to Lincolnshire outfit Krushr.

The money will be used to fund the firm’s growth in sales of its range of domestic recycling trash compactors.

Founded by entrepreneur Martin Preen in 2007, Krushr makes recycling compactor appliances which can be built into a kitchen and compact recyclable waste by around 75%.

They also store waste, reducing the need for frequent emptying of bins, and Krushr has signed a deal with John Lewis to stock its products from next month.

Krushr was advised by Charles Cattaneo and Stephen Bishop, of Cattaneo, with legal advice provided by the Nottingham office of Gateley.

Mr Cattaneo said: “Despite tough market conditions, there are still sources of funding for good businesses and we are delighted to be able to invest our own funds into Krushr, thus demonstrating our faith in our client’s ability to take the business to the next level.

“The funding was structured to take full advantage of enterprise investment scheme relief which provides a valuable incentive for investors to invest in smaller growing businesses.”
