Auchinleck House to get four star treatment

AUCHINLECK House at Five Ways in Birmingham is to be converted into a hotel, reports suggest.
Following in the wake of two other city centre high-rise office blocks: Kennedy Tower near Snow Hill and Cumberland House in Broad Street – both of which are to be converted into hotels – Auchinleck House is to become a four star hotel and conference centre, it is understood. The Five Ways shopping complex at its base will also be revamped.
Built in 1962, the 12-storey tower block has been largely empty for several years and a number of attempts to redevelop it have failed.
Now Australia’s Staywell Group is planning to turn the building into a 300 room Park Regis hotel.
