Auto components firm targets Midlands for distribution hub

LEEDS-based auto components supplier Andrew Page has said work on a major new national distribution facility in the Midlands will start next month.

The company, one of the UK’s fastest growing motor factors, is building the 100,000sq ft facility on the Markham Vale Business Centre in Derbyshire.

It said the business park was situated close to the M1 for easy access to the Midlands motorway network and added the new development would support its expansion plans for 2012 and beyond.

The new facility is intended to be operational by the summer.

“Markham Vale is an ideal location for our national distribution facility and will support our expansion plans and our aspirations as a leading supplier of quality parts and components to our growing list of trade customers,” said Andrew Page managing director, Mark Roberts.

Andrew Page has been operating since 1946 and now has a network of 62 nationwide branches serving a wide and growing range of customers from garages to workshops. It employs more than 1,600 people.

The company supplies products from many of the world’s leading automotive component makers, including Bosch, for which it has been a distributor since 1947. Its own range of components includes Drive Master and Fohrenbühl, which are supplied to many leading vehicle makes and models.

In March 2010 the firm agreed a partnership with private equity firm Phoenix Equity Partners to support its continued growth and development.
