MBO at Walsall care firm CCS

WALSALL care services company CCS Central Ltd has been acquired in an MBO advised by North West law firm Brabners Chaffe Street and Walsall-based Muras Baker Jones.

CCS Central Limited, which trades as Complete Care Services, used Brabners to help structure a deal with existing management after the owners withdrew the business from sale.

Established for 15 years, CCS provides domiciliary services to local authorities and private clients across the Midlands.

Brabners Chaffe Street corporate partner, Ruth Jones and associate Simon Lewis, acted for the shareholders of CCS. Ruth Jones said:“Following keen interest from a number of third party purchasers, the clients took stock due to their concerns that the right ‘fit’ with their people and business had not been found. With a deep sense of commitment to their loyal staff and clients, the shareholders decided to consider an opportunity from within the business”.

John Teather, former director and shareholder of CCS said: “Our people and our clients are the life-blood of our business and we were keen to ensure that their loyalty and commitment was both recognised and retained, whilst at the same time considering an opportunity to put the building blocks in place for the long term future of the company”.

The business will continue to operate from its current premises under the management of Steven and Graham Smith with support from Dorothy Teather. John Teather will act as a consultant. Mr Smith said: “Having worked in the company for a number of years, I am privileged to have been given the opportunity to continue to ensure its future success”.

Jenny Marks of Muras Baker Jones, Walsall advised the management team.
