RSM Tenon shake up sees it take two from BDO

RSM Tenon has beefed up its management team in Birmingham with two new senior appointments.
The accountancy firm has had a troubled start to the year. At the end of January chief executive Andy Raynor and chairman Bob Morton stepped down amid reports of “disappointing” financial performance.
And a month later those reports were confirmed when the firm revealed in its interim results for the period to the end of 2011 that revenue was down 9.3% and its net debt was £76.5m compared to the 2010 figure of £73.3m.
The firm is aiming to bring in new faces to improve its fortunes and in Birmingham Andy McGowan and Melissa McCalla have now joined from rival accountants BDO.
McGowan will be regional manager for Birmingham, having worked in the financial services industry for 28 years.
In her new role as consultant, McCalla will work closely with RSM Tenon’s corporate team.
McGowan said: “This is a new opportunity which I’m relishing. It is a challenge, but it’s one I’m most definitely looking forward to.
“My aim will be to grow the business, increasing profits and building the company’s reputation for providing a high quality service and advice.”
