Cobbetts appoints new managing partner

LAW firm Cobbetts has elected Nick Carr as its new managing partner.
 
Mr Carr succeeds Michael Shaw, who is standing down after 16 years in the role at the firm, which has offices in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and London.

Basd at the firm’s Leeds office, he was previously Cobbetts’ national head of dispute resolution and is a recognised expert litigator. He has served on the Cobbetts board for a number of years.

Mr Carr was seen as one of the two front runners for the role, along with Manchsester-based corporate partner Paul Johnson.

On Friday Cobbetts has revealed a slight increase in fee income for the year to April 30 – up by 1% to £45.2m.

While not divulging profit figurwes it said its restructuring services and litigation teams were its busiest departments, reporting 7% and 8% growth respectively.
